In case you're not sure what I'm talking about, my comments are in reference to the "agreement" reached this week to back of the timeline requirement for troops in Iraq in lieu of a raise in minimum wage and other gifts to the districts of the respective sponsors.

Typical Democratic practice; "stand firm" on a hard issue until you can cave for a payout to a bigger voting block. People actually admired Pelosi et. al., but of course if you can get pork for your programs, maybe troop withdrawal isn't so important after all.
